American Economics Association Summer Training Program (AEASP)

The University of New Mexico (UNM) was awarded to host the American Economics Association’s Summer Training Program (AEASP) from 2012 through 2016. The program draws upon faculty and staff from the UNM Departments of Economics, Mathematics & Statistics and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Center for Health Policy (RWJF) Center. Participation from faculty at other New Mexico universities, including Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) and New Mexico State University (NMSU) and other universities around the country, especially alumni of the
AEA summer program will be enlisted. In addition, economists affiliated with local research institutions (e.g., Sandia National Laboratory, RAND, Santa Fe Institute, Los Alamos National Laboratories) and representatives of the Federal Reserve Bank (i.e., District 11 (Dallas and El Paso branch), District 10 (Denver branch) have been enlisted to participate among the visiting faculty as part of our efforts to expose undergraduate students to the wide variety of career paths and opportunities that await them as economists.
