Edward Vargas, PhD

Biography 

Dr. Vargas obtained his PhD in Public Affairs/Sociology from Indiana University in 2010. Since then, he has held teaching-focused postdoctoral positions at the University of North Carolina and the University of New Mexico, as well as a visiting lecturer position at Indiana University. He looks forward to having protected research time to focus on his research. His research interests include the effects of poverty and inequality on the quality of life, focusing specifically on health, education, and social policy, and how these factors contribute to the well-being of vulnerable families, as well as the methodological issues involved in the quantitative study of race and ethnicity
