Angelina Gonzalez-Aller, RWJF Doctoral Fellow and doctoral student in political science, was recently awarded the prestigious Women's Research & Education Institute (WREI) Fellowship. Chosen from a large pool of national applicants, Angelina was selected as a legislative aide for the WREI and will complete this fellowship in WREI's congressional offices in Washington, DC January through August 2013.

Congratulations go out to Dr. Justina Trott, FACP, RWJF Senior Fellow, Clinical Professor of Medicine-Department of Internal Medicine, and Director of Policy, Research and Education at Women's Health Services. Dr. Trott's work in sex and gender medicine and in women’s health policy earned her the Women’s Health Leadership Award from Women’s Health Services earlier in 2012. The award recognizes established leaders who advance excellent skillful care for women and highlights women’s health programs in northern New Mexico. Dr. Marie Lobo, PhD, FAAN, RWJF Senior Fellow and Professor, College of Nursing, was recently featured in the Albuquerque Journal. Her op-ed, titled "Invest In Kids Now to Save Money Later," details the benefits of the Affordable Care Act on programs designed to educate new parents and prevent and minimize child abuse.
